Happy Mothers Day.
There’s not a better day in the year for me than than this one! To be reminded of all the tireless things you do, only to be reaffirmed by your children and family that they couldn’t live without you, and all those things you do.
My heart breaks for those who don’t have a mother.
Who is the first person you call when you have great news? MOM!
Who is the person you call first when you have bad news? MOM!
At least thats the way it goes for me! I have a great mom who’s passed on to me great wisdom! She’s taught me by watching her, that I can change the atmosphere of a room just by entering it.
Ever seen kids sit up straight when they are up to no good when mom comes in the room?
Ever seen hysteria over a bleeding knee and the tone of a mothers voice can bring calmness?
Or the face of fear relieved when you know you are in trouble but you know mom is gonna be on your side.
We have heard over and over, “when mama’s not happy, nobody is happy!” It’s true, we are the barometer of the atmosphere of our home. We can wreck it, or we can make it a haven of peace. Im in the middle somewhere, but wisdom is teaching me still.
We had such a great day together as a family. My kids read me cards and letters till I was a sobbing mess. They showered me with gifts and affection and somehow it presses me onward. On to a place where I push and prod a little harder, hug a little more, long to pray with greater intent, and love. Love till I have nothing left. Unconditional love is a mom’s greatest asset. I have learned so much from the love of my Father, that nothing will turn me away from my children. Not any disappointment, not any failure. That kind of love drives out all fear.
It’s never to late to begin being a better influence whether your a mom or “like a mom”.
