A Word to Believe

GOD is sooooo good to me.

I walked into a church today, the Awakening Church in  Huntington, IN  and I got a little overwhelmed at all the beautiful ladies that met me there.  There is not a whole lot that I like more than gathering with women. I love girl time, girl talks, and the more the merrier.  So my heart just beamed when I saw the participants of our gathering. I am also really excited that I have traded my “shaky shoes” in and can calmly stand up and share the gospel without sweatin it.

I talked about Believing God with faith like Abraham.

The Grace Factor

I think unconsciously we spend too much time trying to  work things in our favor. Or maybe at times we try really hard  to impress God into performing for us.   In doing that we have  lost sight of the word “grace”.  What I mean is, it was because of grace that Abraham could receive any promise.

Abraham was not the perfect man you would think earning the title ” Father of Many Nations”  but I think it is good that we consider what he did have. He had the will to believe God.

 One thing that I am working on in my own life, is believing God’s word, AND that it’s  not contingent on my behavior. I want to take his word, speak it and forget about my insufficiencies. That in itself takes discipline. {Being still and knowing that HE IS GOD}
I think we could all see a time in our lives that we felt the presence of God when we didn’t earn it or deserve it.

I love the Holy Spirit. I love how he leads us.  If you havn’t found him to be your greatest companion, then hear me, you are missing out on a huge advantage!  This whole week He led me to through the scriptures to piece together a message these women needed to hear. I didn’t know who I was speaking to, but he prepared me for them. I didn’t go to school to write out messages, but He helped me. I asked him for wisdom and He gave it without finding fault {James 1:5}

I tied up my message with this passage I want to show you because I believe it sums up all that I could say about Believing Gods word.

John 8:13The Pharisees objected, “All we have is your word on this. We need more than this to go on.”

 14-18Jesus replied, “You’re right that you only have my word. But you can depend on it being true. I know where I’ve come from and where I go next. You don’t know where I’m from or where I’m headed. You decide according to what you can see and touch. I don’t make judgments like that. But even if I did, my judgment would be true because I wouldn’t make it out of the narrowness of my experience but in the largeness of the One who sent me, the Father.

What if we adjusted our focus to the largeness of Heaven, seeing with our eyes not what is directly in front of us that is contradicting our promises, but the good things God is waiting for you to see to receive.

 To receive anything, you must first see it. The things of God will not be seen in the natural but through eyes of faith.

Abraham believed he would be the father of many nations and he never wavered because of his natural situations.
