Be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs.( airs) an annoyingly affected and condescending manner
God’s strong hand is on you: He’ll promote you at the right time.
Live carefree before God: He is most careful with you.
1 Peter 5:6-7 The Message
I love being in my 30’s and evolving into a more “carefree” person. It’s one thing to be carefree as in being 16 and Daddy taking care of you, but then there’s being carefree in God and trusting that he is in control of where you are and when. That’s what this verse is saying, God’s strong hand is on us. I think this brings about being more comfortable in your skin. After trial and error, tasting and seeing, the things you don’t like and the things you do become significant in your makeup. (not makeup for your face ladies)
No one ever told me about what to expect in my 30’s. I did hear of physical changes and I’m still ignoring that! But I’m not talking about physical changes, I’m talking about heart changes……more insight, an insatiable desire to mother, and for me, that includes baking more! “Becoming” in every sense of the word and becoming more content. Content with the understanding that God is more than able to lead me to the desires of my heart. I don’t have to carry a load of stress hoping that He can “one day” allow me to totally trust. I simply have to allow my God given desires to flow from my heart, and manifest in my life. Don’t “stress in” the desires of your heart, find the joy of allowing God to give them to you.
I love this little quote I found:
Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed. Storm Jameson
My goal this year is to do everything in a state of peaceful happiness. I am living “carefree” in HIS hands in 2009, knowing that not only is the best yet to come in my life, but that some of God’s best has already made it’s way into my life:) There is FREEDOM in casting all your cares on God, knowing that He cares for you. So try it out, dare to live “Carefree!”
