Grand things are exciting, but the little things that leave you with a smile on your face, are treasures that bring sweet satisfaction. It’s been a fun week for us being snowed in, and one that we have not really ever experienced. A week of “nothingness”, if you can call it that. Well, nothing planned, it was sheer bliss! The kids were in and out of the snow, in and out of their jammies all day, sipping cocoa, warmed by the fireplace, playing Uno, hanging out with their cousins, and sourced with netflix movies. We have never ever taken vacation time and spent it at home! But now I’m thinking of when I can plan this! To be a little humorous and get my husband going, this is a record low of spending for me! Nothing has been open!
It hit me this morning as I headed toward the coffee pot, another day of no agendas. All my cubs were home sleeping. I can’t describe that feeling but it makes me smile. And even better, a couple hours of quietness with them sleeping in!
Here I am again, at the end of our family Friday night, with a smile on my face. Not that we did a whole lot, but again, those little things. Sharing a big bucket of popcorn and raisinettes with our crew at the movies and trying to be quiet while Jay whispers loudly of how much he LOVES THIS MOVIE! As much as I wanted him to sit still and quiet, my heart smiles that he is mine.
We are blessed to have a full life that leads us to many places around the world, but my whole world revolves around these little blessings!
