My most popular blog and the message that I preached this weekend was this, ” Did God Lead Me into the Desert? I know the answer and I shared from my heart the dry experience that changed my life this past weekend at New Destiny’s Refreshed Retreat. People want to know the answer to this question and ironically enough, this very question was a part of my pastors series this past Sunday in “The Hard Questions”. God has been more real to me through this journey and I will never doubt him again. As the testimonies are rolling in, I am amazed that God would use me. Even to go through what I felt and the misery of it all, the honor to be His vessel does not compare! To really help someone who is down and out is far greater than any earthly possession.
SO, if you didn’t know the answer, this was the one God gave me.
Hosea 2:14-15 “And now, here’s what I’m going to do:
I’m going to start all over again.
I’m taking her back out into the wilderness
where we had our first date, and I’ll court her.
I’ll give her bouquets of roses.
I’ll turn Heartbreak Valley into Acres of Hope.
She’ll respond like she did as a young girl,
those days when she was fresh out of Egypt.
“At that time”—this is God’s Message still—
“you’ll address me, ‘Dear husband!’
Never again will you address me,
God had to take me to a place where He would become my true love. Im sad to say that I feel as if I was walking in a trance, going through the motions of a conditioned lifestyle, with a slave mentality. Don’t get me wrong, there were some great experiences in the walk, but nothing can compare to what I have now! This kind of love makes you want to share it even when humanity can’t reciprocate.
God also lead Moses and the Isrealites out of slavery and into the wilderness as they escaped Pharoah’s camp. If you study the word, it says they were on a highway when God redirected their path. The road they ventured onto was called the Way of the Wilderness to the Red Sea. Without sharing my whole message, and to make this short, they were on a highway. Highways are busy and in the open. God had to take me off the “busy” highway I was on and lead me into a wilderness where we would meet face to face.
God established me in my desert. He set me up for “such a time as this” as Esther would say! I am getting testimonies through email of the deserts women are walking through right now.
Is.43 16 says 6 I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters,
making a dry path through the sea.
The word “waters’ in this text was translated from the word ‘mayim or Mayhem. Mayhem means means chaos, disorder confusion, turmoil.
Get this: God is making a way through your waters of chaos, He is “a way in the sea”!
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
God is creating rivers in the dry wasteland! This weekend we got to experience a real refreshing! His river carries us higher than we could go on our own! God sets us up in our desert for “A NEW Thing” that we cant even perceive. The “new thing” causes us to forget the former things.
God never leaves us without hope! I never thought I would be walking in this new path nor did I ask for it, but when God declares ” A New Thing” over your life, it will be custom made to fit you and you alone
